Rose Petal Rosaries from Carmelites From the biblical book, Canticle of Canticles, the Church Fathers applied to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, the titles "Rose of Sharon", "Lily of the Valley", and "Garden Enclosed", in which they saw her typified as the mystical bride of Christ. Likewise, she was given the title, "Mystical Rose", preserved today in the Litany of Loreto together with her title "Queen of the Most Holy Rosary". The word rosary is derived from rosarium, Latin for garden or chaplet of roses. In saying the rosary, one builds a garden or chaplet of roses to crown the Blessed Virgin. This explains also why the beads were often made of pressed rose petals or carved to resemble roses. Since this ancient monastic craft of rose bead making has been revived, it is now possible to offer Mary a magnificent bouquet of prayers with an absolutely pure and natural rose petal rosary (with no fillers or paint). In the prayerful and peaceful solitude of our hermitages, the Nuns of the Carmel of Port Tobacco make memorial rose petal rosaries, made from rose petals given for once-in-a-lifetime occasions - weddings, anniversaries or funerals.

The Scriptural Rosary "The Scriptural Rosary is a modern version of the way of the Rosary was once prayed throughout Western Christendom in the late Middle Ages. In those times --- about 1425 to 1525 A.D. -- people recited a different little thought, or meditation, as they prayed each Hail Mary of the Rosary. These thoughts for each Hail Mary bead described some event or incident in the lives of Jesus and Mary." Contains scriptural texts and photos for each mystery
